Wow! What a day.

I got up this morning at 5:00 am and started working on the blog.

About 8:00am I started out to pick up some of God’s Homies aka the GH gang or G Gang.

Among the volunteers was Justin, Kora, and Nate (the music man).

We drove across town to the East Side Red Cross, ya know, the one out by the mall?

Yea, that’s it. Right there at the light….on the right side, just before you turn off on Green River road.

When we got there we were all in ‘rare form’ giggling, acting silly….just having a good time.

Justin forgot his shirt so he opted to wear a ‘pink hoody’ with his pj pants.

“Oh, pink is for breast cancer awareness! It’s all for a good cause, just go ahead and wear it” I said.

I wanted to take some photos of the 3 but nobody wanted to step in front of the camera. People were coming in and out of the Red Cross and I’m pretty sure this group of youth felt a bit out of place. However, if they felt out of place you wouldn’t have known it.

They were great!

When we got inside we went straight back to clean the totes (I’d been given this job the day before) They jumped right in, cleaning, drying and putting the totes back together. I was really proud of them. It took a couple of hours to finish the job but I was so blessed once I thought about how much they’d accomplished.

You see, they asked to go with me.

They volunteered.

We had fun.

And THAT is what it’s all about.

Go check out the Red Cross, have some fun, Volunteer (there’s so much they need help with)
